Founded in May 2017, LiEP Energy Ltd. has developed an electrochemical process for the refining of lithium concentrates to hydroxide without the need for membranes.
At LiEP, we understand that lithium producers are beginning to appreciate the difficulties of producing high purity, battery-grade lithium hydroxide at scale. Our electrochemical process directly addresses this difficulty. We have developed a scalable technology for the selective extraction and refining of lithium concentrates to lithium hydroxide, all while keeping our values at the forefront of everything we do.

Edward T. (Ned) Beattie
MSc, P.Geo - Founder
Ned’s innovative vision led to the creation of LiEP Energy in 2017, with the idea of an alternative energy solution that utilizes knowledge and technology from the oil & gas sector to extract and produce lithium in North America for energy storage. Ned has over 40 years of experience in the energy industry. His expertise has been demonstrated in significant roles in large scale merger and acquisition deals cumulatively exceeding $1 billion in value. In December of 2005, as General Manager, Ned sold Kaiser Energy for $485 million. In 2006, Kaiser Exploration was formed and was managed by Ned from inception up until 2017. During this time, he was accountable for the organization’s strategic growth initiatives and business development.
Ned holds a MSc in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Science in Geology (Honours) from Guilford College.
